On a Yost/Zuraikat motion the September 27, 2005 minutes were APPROVED with the same change that was made in the agenda. ANNOUNCEMENTS: Dr. LaPorte announced that Dr. Staszkiewicz sent an email asking someone to sit on the grades appeal committee- Amadu Ayebo volunteered. Dr. LaPorte also reported that the syllabus of record has been moved out of the inactive items into the business in progress section. Dr. Williamson distributed policy changes/function of the committee. Dr. David Myers announced that Anne Creany would be coming to the meeting at 4:00pm to be available to answer questions about Master of Education in Literacy and/or Reading Specialist Program. Dr. Myers proposed an idea to create a Graduate Academic Committee that could handle the policy issues while this committee would take care of curricular issues. An Ayebo/Boerner motion to move on with this idea quickly was unanimously passed. Dr. Soni announced that Dr. Staszkiewicz agreed with his suggestion to form a joint subcommittee of the UWGC and UWUCC to develop a template for course syllabus of record and the approval process to implement the syllabus amnesty scheme. Further, he requested the UWGC co-chairs to contact the UWUCC chair to form such a joint subcommittee.
