Williamson, Dawn Woodland, Wenfan Yen, Nashat Zuraikat ABSENT: Heather Meloy, David Piper Dr. David LaPorte called the meeting to order at 3:25 p.m. On a Zuraikat/Dandeneau motion the agenda was APPROVED as submitted. On a Brown/Staszkiewicz motion the November 21, 2006 minutes were APPROVED as submitted. ANNOUNCEMENTS: Dr. LaPorte announced that he received an email from Victoria Damiani, regarding the new course proposal for EDSP 623 Educational Programming for Gifted Learners; she states that the two departments involved and the college have decided to offer all gifted courses as dual level and has asked if she has to put this proposal on hold because they need to get all new numbers. She had also asked if since she had made the changes that was requested if this could continue to be looked at by the UWGCC. The committee agreed that there is no reason why the proposer should not just go ahead and let this go ahead in the UWGCC and then go to UWUCC for approval. Dr. LaPorte is going to respond to her that she should just continue the process with UWGCC. He also announced that he emailed Gail Sechrist, regarding the GEOG 571 class. It was discovered that GEOG 571 is part of the GIS/Cartography Track (an elective) and its deletion therefore affects this track and requires a Minor Program Revision for the committee to review. He also stated that the course deletion should be withdrawn from the next senate agenda. Dr. Williamson no announcements. Dr. Boser no announcements. Dean Eck announced that the search for Vice Provost for Research and Dean for School of Graduate Studies and Research is moving right along. There are a couple of good applicants and there will more than likely be campus interviews sometime at the beginning of next semester.
