If you’ve got a creative idea, STEAMSHOP can equip you with the tools and skills needed to bring it to life. STEAMSHOP focuses on student and new user training, design thinking and teamwork, and rapid prototyping. Collaboration between counties, the IUP Eberly College of Business, and the University of Pittsburgh Small Business Development Center at IUP provides robust resources for entrepreneurs.

Rapid Prototyping

Learn design thinking and prototyping in a variety of materials. Perfect for people interested in translating hand skills into digital technology.

Facilities

IUP Students—you are automatically members. But you’ll need training before you can independently use the equipment. You’ll also get a discount on activities and workshops offered through STEAMSHOP. Local Businesses and Community Members—you can become a STEAMSHOP member. Being a member gives you access to equipment and discounted prices for classes and workshops. Memberships are paid month-to-month and can be canceled at any time.
