Classes and Requirements
In IUP’s online MEd in Education program, you'll begin with core coursework through five, three-credit classes.
Depending on your interests and career goals, you'll choose from one of the program's four specializations and take 15–18 credits in that area:
- Business Education with Initial Certification
- Career and Technical Administration Certification
- Instruction and Learning
- Special Education
Students also have the option of completing the Master’s in Education and then the Principal Certification program.
Those who do not hold a master's degree are encouraged to consider the Master’s in Education program, Administration and Leadership Specialization, which embeds principal certification coursework and internships in the 30-credit master’s degree program.
Requirements in the Business Education specialization result in an initial instructional certificate in ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø. The Principal and Vocational Administrative certificate can be added once an initial certificate has been granted by the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Department of Education.
