Join the IUP Career and Professional Development Center on Monday, February 14, at 6:00 p.m. in the HUB Ohio Room for the Business Attire Fashion Show. This event is also a part of the Six O’Cclock Series.
Have you ever found yourself applying for a great job or internship, and as you think about an interview the panic slowly starts to set in… what do I wear? Or maybe you landed your dream position, and you have no clue what your boss means when they say the dress code is business casual. Don’t let this be you! Whatever the occasion might be, understanding professional attire is key to making a great first impression.
Models will be dressed in professional attire, courtesy of JC Penney in the Indiana Mall. Representatives from Enterprise, a spring 2022 Career Ready Seminar Series Employer sponsor, will also be in attendance to network with students and share employment opportunities. Also, Liz Mims ’02, a graduate of IUP and current director of Client Services at Dress for Success Pittsburgh, will emcee this event.
This is the first installment of our spring 2022 Career Ready Seminar Series, which aims to provide targeted programming to help IUP students gain and understand the necessary skills and competencies to be successful in life after graduation.
Jenn Abraham, a graduate assistant at the IUP CPDC, helped to coordinate the event, and stated, “I am thrilled that our team is bringing back the Business Attire Fashion this spring. Students who attend will see their friends and fellow Hawks dressed their best, in various types of business attire, and will learn what not to wear to different professional occasions. I look forward to seeing the models strut their stuff and having the audience learn about business attire in a fashionable and fun-filled way.”
