Join the IUP Career and Professional Development Center on Wednesday, September 11, at 6:00 p.m. in 225 Jane E. Leonard Hall for the first installment of this fall’s Career Ready Seminar Series, "The Job and Internship Search and How to Navigate it Successfully," presented by Jill Thomas Kirsch, talent acquisition manager, early career talent, and university relations at Highmark Health/AHN, a Career Ready Seminar Series sponsor this fall.
We get it. Navigating a job or internship search can be stressful. Where do you start? Where do you find opportunities? What information should you have gathered beforehand? Sometimes it can feel like you have more questions than answers, so that is where we come in! Join the CPDC and Kirsch for a fun and informative session on how to navigate a job or internship search successfully. We will review strategies and best practices and answer any questions you might have to make this process as seamless as possible.
The Career Ready Seminar Series is inspired by the National Association of Colleges and Employers Competencies for Career Readiness. The CPDC develops its programs and services with intentionality to help IUP students gain and understand the necessary skills and competencies to be successful as they transition from higher education into the professional world.
Kelsey Thompson, associate director at the IUP CPDC who oversees this workshop series, stated, “I am looking forward to kicking off our fall workshops with this session that Jill is presenting. Jill and Highmark Health/AHN have been wonderful supporters of the CPDC and are also sponsoring the fall 2024 CRSS. Jill has been in talent acquisition and recruiting for several years and has a lot of wonderful insight to share. The information that she’ll be discussing is relevant to seniors getting ready for the job search, juniors and sophomores trying to secure internships and/or part-time jobs, and freshmen as they determine what their career goals are.”
