The University of Connecticut's Department of Chemistry will be visiting IUP on Thursday, November 11, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to showcase their graduate MS and PhD programs.
Students can attend either by coming to Weyandt 127 or on their computers, using the . Many IUP graduates have gone onto the University of Connecticut for their graduate degrees.

Research
The University of Connecticut Department of Chemistry has approximately 25 faculty members with active research programs encompassing modern aspects of bioanalytical, biomaterials, biological, catalytic, computational, nanomaterials, organometallic, organic, and polymer chemistry. A significant fraction of faculty research addresses biological and biomedical problems, nanomaterials, and energy research. Departmental research divisions include , , , , , , and .
Collaboration
The Department is part of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. It maintains strong ties to departments in Biological Sciences, Physics, and Chemical Engineering, as well as the School of Pharmacy and the UConn Health Center. UConn Chemistry research groups engage in extensive collaborations with faculty and staff within and outside the department. Faculty members have wide-ranging collaborations extending throughout the world including National Institutes of Health, major industrial companies, and US and foreign universities and research institutes.
The UConn Department of Chemistry also has formal and informal graduate student exchange agreements with a wide range of these institutions. Some members of the Department are affiliated with the , which offers a wide variety of research instrumentation and technical support, and many faculty hold joint appointments with other departments at UConn and the UConn Health Center.
