For 13 years, IUP's Career and Professional Development Center has offered a "Career Game Plan" tool for students to manage their careers and plan for their next steps into the professional world.
The tool outlines a strategy for students to stay on track with their professional goals and provides tips for each phase of their educational journey at IUP and beyond. For example, freshman students should meet with a career coach, join organizations, and attend graduate school fairs. Senior students should start their job search at least six months prior to graduation, continue to expand their network, and attend the CPDC's Career Ready and Professional Panel seminar series.
In addition to the Career Game Plan tool, the CPDC offers a multitude of other services that can support students as they navigate their entrance into the professional world. Taylor Serrano, a junior in IUP's Computer Science Software Engineering program, said, "The CPDC is one of the most important resources, and I hope students take advantage of this resource in college. Thank you, CPDC for opening the door of opportunity!"
