Dawn Smith-Sherwood, Department of Foreign Languages (Spanish), recently published the chapter "" in the Modern Language Association's Approaches to Teaching the Works of Miguel de Unamuno, edited by Luis lvarez-Castro of the University of Florida.

Smith-Sherwood continues to pursue this line of research with Mark Darhower of North Carolina State University.

Smith-Sherwood and Darhower were accepted to present the findings of their spring 2019 SoTL study, as well as a workshop on using the Integrated Performance Assessment in second language literature courses, at the 102nd annual conference of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese, to be held in San Juan, Puerto Rico, July 9-12. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 crisis, the conference was canceled, but they have been invited to participate in the 103rd annual conference of the AATSP in Atlanta, Georgia, July 8-11, 2021.
