IUP has been recognized as one of “America's Best Colleges” by Forbes Magazine. It is one of only twenty-three ϳԹ colleges and universities chosen for this third annual listing.

“America's Best Colleges” includes 610 institutions. Magazine editors chose colleges and universities for the listing “based on the quality of the education they provide, the experiences of the students and how much they achieve.”

“All 610 schools in this ranking count among the best in the country,” the editors noted. “We review just 9 percent of the 6,600 accredited postsecondary institutions in the U.S., so appearing on our list at all is an indication that a school meets a high standard.”

According to the editors, rankings are based on factors that directly concern incoming students, such as whether courses will be interesting, the likelihood of graduating in four years, debt incurred to attend the school, and job placement after graduation.

This accolade follows IUP's selection, for the seventeenth year in a row, as one of the nation's top doctoral universities by U.S. News & World Report.

IUP is included in the rankings of the magazine's “Best Colleges” 2011 edition and is one of its top 262 national doctoral universities.

In July, IUP celebrated its tenth consecutive year of inclusion in the Princeton Review's “Best Colleges” guidebook and selection as a “Best Northeastern College” by Princeton Review guidebook editors for the second year in a row.

In April, IUP's Eberly College of Business and Information Technology was one of fifteen graduate schools of business in the nation named to the Princeton Review's second annual “Student Opinion Honors for Business Schools.” The listing was featured in the April issue of Entrepreneur Magazine.

In addition, the business college won national prominence in the Princeton Review's inaugural edition of “The Best Business Schools” in 2005 and has continued to be selected annually for this recognition by guidebook editors.
