We have just learned of the death of Helmut Paschold, a faculty member in the Department of Safety Sciences, on Saturday, September 21.
Dr. Paschold joined the IUP community in August 2012. A certified safety professional and certified industrial hygienist, he held bachelor's and master's degrees in industrial engineering and a PhD in environmental science and engineering. He began his career in safety and health in 1978, working in private industry until he entered academia full-time in 2005. His research interests included indoor particulate matter exposure, whole-body vibration, and activity-based learning.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, September 26, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas More University Parish, 1200 Oakland Avenue, Indiana.
