The Undergraduate Summer Opportunity for Applying Research (U-SOAR) program will run this summer in a totally online capacity!
While many universities have needed to cancel their summer research programs, IUP is proud to announce that U-SOAR is still taking place. This re-tooled program continues to support undergraduate research and now includes a monetary stipend for all participants, five virtual events for professional development during the summer, and a poster session to present your research at the beginning of the fall semester. Check out the U-SOAR website for more information.
Apply via the in InfoReady Review.Applications are due Friday, May 1, at 4:30 p.m.
Have a project idea? Talk to a faculty member about how it could work under stay-at-home orders and submit an application. Projects need to happen without a lab or fieldwork, and with no face-to-face interactions with your faculty mentor, so get creative. Here are some ideas to get you started:
- Analyze a previously collected data set
- Do a literature review for a future paper
- Create new art or compose a new musical piece
- Innovate new K-12 curriculum
- Write a survey paper
- Use a virtual survey or interviews for a study
- Do a purely theoretical project (maybe involving mathematics, developing new software, doing historical research, etc.)
- And so much more!
Please confirm that your faculty mentor is willing to supervise your project before applying.
