Join others in the IUP community for a virtual discussion with Ijeoma Oluo, author of the New York Times best seller So You Want to Talk About Race, on Friday, October 22, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. in Leonard Hall (HSS) room 225.
The reading of this work has been featured in multiple book clubs across campus and the State System. The Social Equity and Title IX Office and the Division of Student Affairs are hosting several coffee and conversation hours to discuss the book and related topics of interest. These will be held during the common hour on October 5, 13, 19, and 27 outside of Stapleton Library.
Oluo's work on race has been featured in multiple publications and she has been named to the 2021 TIME 100 Next List and the Root 100. Oluo has received the 2020 Harvard Humanist of the Year Award.
Her guest appearance in this virtual discussion will be hosted simultaneously by each of the PASSHE universities and is sponsored by the . The summit will be held virtually on November 3-5, 2021 and this year's theme is "Onward & Upward: Advancing DEI Mindsets through Impactful Action."
