Dear IUP Colleagues,
Following a national search, I am pleased to tell you that Dr. Roger Briscoe II has been selected to serve as IUP’s executive director of Student Inclusion. Dr. Briscoe started his position yesterday.
In this new role, Dr. Briscoe will be responsible for aspects of student life related to student inclusion, including the development of multicultural student programming, working with the Crimson Scholars Circle program, the UBORA Men of IUP program, and the function and promotion of the IUP Food Pantry and Help Center. His role also includes fostering student life opportunities for graduate and commuting students. He will supervise the assistant director for Multicultural Affairs and Student Success.
Dr. Briscoe has many ties to the university, including earning three degrees from IUP: his bachelor’s degree in sport science kinesiology, his master’s degree in sport science-sports administration, and his doctor of education degree in administration and leadership studies.
He has been an adjunct instructor in the Department of Professional Studies in Education since 2020 and was part of the Frederick Douglass program as a Distinguished Scholar Instructor and Fulbright DAI Educational Technology Instructor. He was an instructor with the Office of International Education-American Language Institute and with the University College’s Department of Undergraduate Studies and Student Success. He is an advisor to IUP’s Lettuce Eating Club, the men’s club lacrosse team, UBORA Men of IUP, and the Creating Higher Standards organization.
He is an experienced presenter in the health and wellness field, diversity and inclusion, and leadership in education.
