Off-campus visitors of up to 5,000 people are expected on Monday, Sept. 23, for a private, ticketed, non-university event at the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex.
Doors open to ticket holders starting at 3 p.m.
The following changes to on-campus operations will be in place to accommodate this event:
- There will be no access to the Kovalchick Complex from 9 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22 to midnight Tuesday, Sept. 24, except to event organizers and ticket holders, during the event.
- The Kovalchick Complex Wayne Avenue parking lot will be closed from 9 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, to midnight Tuesday, Sept. 24.
- Pratt Drive adjacent to the Kovalchick Complex to the Miller Stadium South Parking lot will be closed to vehicular traffic from 9 a.m. Monday, Sept. 23, to midnight Tuesday, Sept. 24.
- The Miller Stadium South Parking Lot will be closed from 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22 to midnight Tuesday, Sept. 24.
All parking for the event on Monday, Sept. 23, with the exception of a small number of spaces in the Kovalchick Complex Wayne Avenue parking lot, will be directed to an off-campus site; no event parking will be permitted in campus parking lots to minimize the effect on campus operations and student and employee vehicular traffic.
While Pratt Drive adjacent to the Kovalchick Complex will be closed to vehicular traffic, the west sidewalk on the Eberly College of Business side of Pratt Drive will be open to pedestrians. The Miller Stadium North Parking Lot will be open for IUP permit holder parking and can be accessed via South 11th Street.
Parking enforcement officials will be closely monitoring parking regulations on campus, including the campus-wide 2 to 6 a.m. parking prohibition. Vehicles parked illegally will be ticketed and towed.
Officials expect significant pedestrian and vehicular traffic around the Kovalchick Complex and along Wayne Avenue, including the possibility of some traffic stops to accommodate persons attending the event. Persons are encouraged to avoid these areas as much as possible.
