Three graduating students from the Department of Student Affairs in Higher Education were honored for exceptional accomplishments and contributions as part of the department’s commencement video for the graduating class of 2021.
The video featured a virtual procession of the graduates, presentation of department awards, a speech by one of the students, and introductions of each graduate. The video was book-ended by photo montages of students and their campus experiences. A “watch party” via Zoom on Thursday evening, May 6, allowed more than 130 viewers (including students, friends, families, and colleagues) to watch the 50-minute video together as a community.
Award recipients announced on the video included Taylor Jones and Molly Verostick as Outstanding Scholars for their academic achievement and ability to enhance the learning environment for their colleagues. Also awarded was Annika Philippe-Auguste as the S. Trevor Hadley Outstanding Student for her academic accomplishments and significant service to her campus and professional communities.
Molly Verostick was chosen to deliver the student address on the video. SAHE students and faculty selected Molly on the basis of her excellent speaking skills and her ability to speak on behalf of the 2021 graduating class.
The Department of Student Affairs in Higher Education students, faculty, and alumni are proud of and congratulate all of our graduates and award honorees!
