John Wesley Lowery, professor of Student Affairs in Higher Education, received the Outstanding Contribution to Literature/Research Award by NASPA: Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education, Region II on June 9, 2021.
This award honors an individual who has demonstrated a lifetime commitment to research and scholarship related to higher education, addressing substantial issues and having a significant or transformative effect on higher education and student affairs practice in a national or international context.
Lowery is regarded as one of the leading authorities on legal and legislative issues in student affairs, and he is a sought-after consultant on campus codes of conduct, the Clery Act, Title IX compliance, and First Amendment issues. He is a regular speaker at the Association for Student Conduct Administration’s annual conference.
The award was presented during the NASPA Region II conference, held June 7–9, 2021. NASPA Region II includes Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø, Washington DC, and West Virginia.
