At the Association for Student Conduct Administration’s annual conference in Washington, DC this week, John Wesley Lowery, professor of Student Affairs in Higher Education at IUP, received the association’s Donald D. Gehring Award.
The Gehring Award recognizes an exceptional professional who has contributed significantly to the development of their campus community, the field, and professional organizations. The award is named in honor of Dr. Donald D. Gehring, who was a founder and the first president of the Association for Student Conduct Administration almost 35 years ago.
Lowery has been actively involved in ASCA for three decades. He served on the association’s board of directors, chaired several national committees, and coordinated the Training Institute as part of Donald D. Gehring Academy for Student Conduct Administration. Over the past 30 years, he has presented approximately 100 times at the ASCA programs and events, including the annual conference, summer institute, and various regional conferences and webinars.
Congratulations, Dr. Lowery!
