Mimi Benjamin and John Mueller, of the Department of Student Affairs in Higher Education, each presented educational sessions at the annual American College Personnel Association convention in St. Louis, Missouri, March 6–9, 2022.
Benjamin presented “Learning Communities as a Place To Be for Success” and “Deepening Faculty and Student Interaction in Living-Learning Communities.” Mueller presented research findings in a session titled “Measuring Privileged Identity in Educational Environments.”
In addition, Benjamin was honored as an Annuit Coeptis–Senior Professional. She was joined by SAHE alumna Angela Delfine Mechler ’19, who was honored as an Annuit Coeptis–Emerging Professional.
The ACPA Annuit Coeptis honor recognizes senior and emerging student affairs professionals for their exemplary contributions to the field. The actual award is a dinner that continues a more than 40-year tradition established by professors Philip Tripp and Ursula Delworth, who dearly loved to engage their contemporaries and junior colleagues in a spirit of personal and professional sharing, good humor, and thoughtful intellectual debate over a fine meal.
ACPA is one of two leading professional associations for student affairs in higher education, meeting the professional development needs of student affairs practitioners, graduate preparation program faculty, and graduate students across the country and around the world.
