Three graduating students, one current student, and a 2003 alumnus from the Department of Student Affairs in Higher Education were honored for exceptional accomplishments and contributions as part of the department's annual banquet on Thursday, May 5, 2022. This is the first time, since the start of the pandemic, that the department has been able to host the banquet.
Award recipients announced at this year’s banquet included Jenn Abraham and Ali Walker as Outstanding Scholars for their academic achievement and ability to enhance the learning environment for their colleagues. Also awarded was Evelyn Mendlowitz as the S. Trevor Hadley Outstanding Student for her academic accomplishments and significant service to her campus and professional communities.
Ally Keller was chosen to deliver the student address at the banquet. SAHE students and faculty selected Ally on the basis of her ability to speak on behalf of the 2022 graduating class. Marc Vukotich was announced as the Get Involved! Student Leadership Award recipient, which acknowledges a first-year SAHE student who has demonstrated achievement in bettering the SAHE community.
Will Foran (’03) was present to receive the department’s Ron Lunardini Distinguished Alumni Award as well as a monetary award of $500. In keeping with the mission of the Ron and Peggy Lunardini Fund—allowing the recipient to experience the pleasure of financially supporting an educational component of their choosing—Foran announced that he will be donating the award money to the IUP Office of Fraternity/Sorority Life and Student Engagement for leadership programming.
The Department of Student Affairs in Higher Education students, faculty, and alumni are proud of and congratulate all of our honorees and the entire SAHE graduating Class of 2022!
