On Friday, April 19, the College of Education and Communications recognized Carrie Egnosak ’05 as the recipient of the 2024 Impact Award for the Department of Student Affairs in Higher Education. Carrie is accomplished in the field of academic advising.
Carrie currently serves as an academic advisor with Penn State’s World Campus Academic Advising and Student Disability Services, after spending 13 years with the Academic and Career Planning Center at Penn State Behrend. Throughout her career, she has been an active member of the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA), now known as the Global Community for Academic Advising. Carrie has held numerous leadership positions, such as cochair for the volunteers and evaluations for the Region 2 conference, and she is a founding member of the Well-Being and Adviser Retention Advising Community.
At present, Carrie is a mentor for the Region 2 Mentoring Program, a member of the Professional Development Committee, and health and wellness cochair for the 2024 Annual Conference Steering Committee. She has received numerous awards, including the 2021 Janet Neff Sample Center for Manners and Civility Behrend’s Best Award, which recognizes staff members who live the civility values and enrich the campus in doing so; and the NACADA 2020 Excellence in Advising – Primary Role Certificate of Merit.
