IUP offers scholarships especially for culinary and baking students. No separate scholarship application is required. All applicants who complete the Culinary Admissions Application will be automatically considered.

$3,000 Punxsutawney Area College Trust Honors Scholarship

Qualifications include:

  • Official SAT or ACT scores
  • Academic excellence (Minimum GPA of 3.0)
  • Employment, educational, or volunteer experiences in the food service industry

ThePunxsutawney Area College TrustHonors Scholarship recognizes well-rounded individuals who are able to meet challenges head on. Favorable consideration is given to applicants who ultimately want to pursue a BS degree in Hospitality Management or Food and Nutrition.

$3,000 High Achievers Scholarship

Qualifications include:

  • High level of academic achievement (Minimum GPA of 3.0)
  • Participation in school, community, or professional activities or associations

Scholarships will be given to students who have been able to blend academics with career-minded employment and/or professional or school organization involvement. Special consideration will be given to applicants who have chosen to devote their time and effort to educationally valuable experiences gained outside of the classroom.

Linda Drummond Deabenderfer Scholarship

Eligible candidates for this scholarship shall be selected from students who best meet the following criteria:

  • Must be enrolled in the IUP Academy of Culinary Arts;
  • Must be in good academic standing;
  • Preference to residents of the following ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø counties: Armstrong, Indiana, or Jefferson;
  • Preference for students with financial need as defined by the university.

Scholarships for Culinary Competitors

Students competing in culinary and baking categories in the organizations below are eligible for consideration to receive an IUP Culinary Competitor scholarship. Students must provide a copy of their award letter or certificate.

PA FCCLA State and National Competition

STAR Events Culinary Arts, first-, second-, and third-place teams
STAR Events Pastry Arts Baking, first-, second-, and third-place teams
$2,000 will be awarded to each team member who is admitted to and enrolls in Culinary Arts at IUP.

PRO START State and National Competition

Culinary Arts Competition, first-, second-, and third-place teams
Management Competition, first-, second-, and third-place teams
$2,000 will be awarded to each team member who is admitted to and enrolls in Culinary Arts at IUP.

SkillsUSA State and National Competition

Competitors in Culinary Arts, first-, second-, and third-place teams
Competitors in Baking and Pastry, first-, second-, and third-place teams
$2,000 will be awarded to each team member who is admitted to and enrolls in Culinary Arts at IUP.

Complete your application to culinary arts. Contact us at culinary-arts@iup.edu to notify us of your culinary competition award. Please provide us with the following information:

  • Your name
  • Organization (FCCLA, ProStart, SkillsUSA)
  • Competition area
  • Date and location of competition
  • Did you place first, second, or third in your competition?
  • A copy of your award letter or certificate

Careers through Culinary Arts Programs (C-CAP) Scholarship

IUP Academy of Culinary Arts sponsors a scholarship awarded to a C-CAP competitor. Scholarship winner will be determined based on the results of CCAP Culinary Arts Competition. Recipients must have applied and be admitted to the IUP Academy of Culinary Arts.

Tony and Emma Ricupero Memorial Rustic Lodge Scholarship

Established by members of the Ricupero and Lubold families to honor their parents and grandparents, this scholarship is awarded to outstanding and talented students enrolled in the Academy of Culinary Arts.

Academy of Culinary Arts students are eligible to apply for this scholarship in the spring semester of their first year. Information and application materials are available through the Department of Culinary Arts faculty office.
