Art and Design
Art and Design students develop their creative, technical, and expressive abilities in preparation for careers in the Fine Arts, museums and galleries, K-12 education, graphic design, interior design, and fashion studies.
Communications Media
Students prepare to work in all fields of media: television and film production, audio recording, radio broadcasting, photography, graphic design, animation, games and simulations, media promotions, research, project management, consulting, scriptwriting, and instructional design.
Criminology and Criminal Justice
Students seeking careers in Criminology receive a broad liberal arts education that encourages them to think critically about crime and justice issues and also prepares them for careers in the criminal justice system.
History, Political Science, Philosophy, and Religious Studies
If you crave an intellectual challenge, History, political science, and philosophy or religious studies may well be right for you. Students in our program develop critical thinking skills that lead to a deeper comprehension of world and national cross-cultural events.
Language, Literature, and Writing
Students learn to read, write, and think critically; explore and master other languages; to communicate effectively and persuasively; and to analyze and create documents and media that make an impact.
Music, Theatre, and Dance
Whether you want to become a music educator, performer, composer, musicologist, or critic, at IUP you will be exposed to a range of instruments, music styles, and career options. By choosing among two theater concentrations or a dance minor, you can direct your creative talents and shape your future as an artist in the entertainment industry.
