IUP Secures $1 Million from Department of Defense for Summer Language Immersion Program for Cybersecurity Students

ϳԹ has received $996,350 from the Department of Defense to establish a pilot summer immersion program for cybersecurity students to develop language foundations and proficiency in Chinese. IUP is the only school in the nation chosen to develop the program.

Annual Sidewalk Commentary Contest Planned for April 26

The annual ϳԹ Sidewalk Commentary Contest, also known as “Chalk the Walk,” will be held Wednesday, April 26, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the IUP Oak Grove. In case of inclement weather, the event will be held Friday, April 28.

Council of Trustees Approve Naming of Trumpet Studio in Honor of Retired Faculty Member Eisensmith

At its meeting on March 23, ϳԹ’s Council of Trustees honored retired Music Department faculty member Kevin Eisensmith by naming a space in IUP’s Cogswell Hall, home to the department, in his honor.

The Ambassador of Mali to the United States, Sekou Berthé, will give two presentations at IUP: "West and Central Africa at the Crossroads of Global Security Challenges" and "Economic Matters and Investment Opportunities in Mali, West Africa." Both events are free and open to the public.

Tibetan Monks Return to Campus of ϳԹ

Tibetan Buddhist monks from Drepung Loseling Monastery will be in residence on the campus of ϳԹ from March 21 until March 25. During this time, they will present a variety of events that will be open to both the campus and the community. Most of the events are free of charge.

Chalk the Walk

Liberal Studies Fine Arts Courses Available During Winter Session

The following courses are available for students during winter session: ARHI 101, MUHI 101, and THTR 101. Any student needing a D/F repeat for FIAR 101 can receive this by taking one of these courses as well. Other courses of interest are ARHI 205 and 207 (which can fulfill LS electives). These are also available online during winter session.
