Eberly College of Business enrolls approximately 1,400 students. The size of the student body allows the college to offer a wide range of program career options.

Accreditation

Eberly College is accredited by AACSB International: The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. AACSB International is the premier accrediting agency for collegiate business programs. As of October, 2020, 876 colleges and universities hold AACSB International accreditation. This could be considered analogous to a school participating in NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletics or a corporation having its stock listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

Relatively Small Class Sizes

Most classes enroll from twenty-five to forty-five students.

Instruction by Professors Rather Than Graduate Assistants

Highly qualified professors instruct Eberly College classes. Graduate assistants offer research support and do not teach any classes.

Professors with "Real-World" Experience

Many of the professors in Eberly College have both doctoral degrees and extensive industrial/professional experience. A significant number of Eberly College professors have had lengthy careers with some of the largest corporations in the world, and several of the accounting faculty have had public accounting experience.

Professors Recognized with Fulbright Awards

Considered the U.S. government's flagship international exchange program, the Fulbright Program is designed to enhance the international interests of the United States and the scholarship that it supports. The Fulbright program was established in 1946 by the U.S. Congress to enhance mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries. It is the largest U.S. international exchange program sponsored by the U.S. State Department, and is offered to students, scholars, and professionals for the purpose of graduate study, research, and teaching. Highly Effective Internship Program

Eberly College has the largest business internship program in the state of ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø. It provides internship opportunities with many major corporations in virtually all the major cities in the eastern half of the United States. Many interns secure permanent employment within the internship company.

Strong Alumni Network

Eberly College has more than 20,000 alumni. Many have assumed positions of leadership in large corporations and public accounting firms, primarily in the eastern half of the United States. A substantial number (around 3,000) have become part of the business community in Pittsburgh. Consequently, IUP alumni have developed an extensive network that we utilize in placing students in internships and in placing graduates in their first career position.

Outstanding Placement Opportunities

Many major corporations recruit on the IUP campus, including Alcoa, American Express, Bristol-Myers Squibb Co., Champion International, Cigna, DuPont Company, Eddie Bauer, EDS, Exxon Company, Federated Investors, General Motors, Georgia Pacific, IBM Corporation, JC Penney, K-Mart, BNY Mellon, Pepsi Cola, PNC Bank, Sony Electronics Inc., Sun Microsystems, Inc., Wal-Mart, Walt Disney World Company, and Westinghouse. All the major public accounting firms, including Deloitte & Touche LLP; Ernst & Young LLP; PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP; and KPMG LLP; recruit annually on campus.

Modern High-Tech Complex

Eberly College faculty and staff moved into a new $10-million complex in January 1996. The complex has approximately eighteen file servers, 600 computer workstations, a digital production studio, state-of-the-art communication technology, and a 450-seat auditorium.

Guaranteed Enrollment

Students are assured that they can enroll in classes in a timely fashion. Eberly College assures students that they will be able to take appropriate coursework in a given semester; although, it does not guarantee enrollment under a particular teacher. With this assurance and normal progress, students can finish the bachelor's degree in a four-year period.
