Brettlyn Johns ‘26
Brettlyn is a media production major from Kittanning, PA. She loves the project-based nature of her classes, which have equipped her with real work experience, from being able to direct a crew and a broadcast to being a technical director and a camera operator.
She’s found the Communications Media Department to be very life-changing, especially through the faculty who are always willing to help her succeed. She aspires to be a director for a live sports broadcast.
Samantha Koessler ‘24
Samantha is from Pittsburgh, PA. She’s a communications media production major and is dual-enrolled in the Strategic Communications master’s program, from which she will graduate in 2025.
With an interest in film production, she is enjoying her classes where she’s learning the ins and outs of television, film, and live broadcasting. She’s also learned to use software and equipment used in the field, all of which are helping to perfect her portfolio.
Donavin Carrington 24
Donavin is from Mercersburg, PA. He is a television production major, with a minor in sports management. The best part of his experience has been the warm interactions in the department and being part of different clubs within the department and on campus.
He has been learning something new in each of his hands-on classes that are helping him master his craft as he prepares to venture into a career in production and managing social media in the sports industry.
