Matthew L. Nice, PhD, LPC, NCC, ACS is an assistant professor with the Department of Counseling at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø and chapter faculty advisor for IUP's Chi Sigma Iota Chapter, Iota Upsilon Pi. He is a licensed professional counselor, nationally certified counselor, an approved clinical supervisor, and a certified school counselor. Nice is an active member of ACA, ACES, AARC, ASGW, AADA, as well as NBCC and CSI.

Research and Scholarship

Nice's scholarship and primary research interests focus on emerging adulthood development in regard to cultural identity salience, individuation, and understanding the differences between non-college-going and college-going emerging adults. Nice's research also focuses on assessment and measurement of scales on these constructs. Additionally, Nice has a focus on professional school counselors' college readiness and college knowledge in preparing students for post-secondary transitions.
