The Strategic Website Assistance Project, or SWAP, remade our department websites to better represent our academic programs, better represent IUP, and encourage prospective undergraduate and graduate students to inquire for more information, visit IUP, and apply.
To achieve those goals, SWAP introduced:
- Fresh, professionally written copy based on interviews with department faculty;
- Storytelling through short quotations and photographs emphasizing the outcomes of an IUP education;
- Improved navigation within each department's program offerings;
- Better use of existing photography and video (and in some cases, the production of new media assets);
- A new page design with highly visible calls to action, links to social media, and improved search engine optimization;
The project began in the spring of 2013 with funding from the president's Strategic Initiative Fund. The project was completed in June 2015.
