The is now available. IUP will begin to receive FAFSA data at the end of March 2024. This means that we will not be able to confirm that we’ve received your FAFSA until then. We anticipate beginning to send offer letters to new students at the beginning of May 2024 and to returning students in late June 2024.
There are several changes to the FAFSA for the 2024–25 aid year, but the deadline has not changed. Be sure to submit your FAFSA by May 1 for maximum aid consideration.
Some of the items that have changed include the following:
- The Expected Family Contribution (EFC) is being replaced by the Student Aid Index (SAI).
- The FAFSA will be more user-friendly, and most students will have to answer fewer questions.
- Students and contributors will be required to provide financial information by consenting to the IRS Direct Data Exchange.
- Number in college will no longer be included in the calculation for financial aid eligibility.
- When parents are divorced or separated, the parent who contributes to the FAFSA has changed. In the past, it was the parent with whom the student had lived with the most in the prior 12 months; it is now the parent who has provided the most financial support to the student.
- The value of small businesses and family farms must now be reported as assets
