The Allenwood is open for lunch and dinner this spring 2024 semester.
Our students have the unique opportunity to manage the Allenwood. These students are enrolled in the two laboratory courses—HOSP 330 - Applications of Food Production and Service and HOSP 413 - Restaurant Food Production and Service—and they manage the Allenwood every semester.
These courses provide hands-on learning in:
- Food production techniques
- Safe food handling procedures
- Team building
- Communication
- Leadership skills

Our students also apply and develop managerial functions of planning, organizing, influencing, and controlling an operation.
The Allenwood is operated through two courses as part of the Hospitality Management curriculum. Hours of operation are limited based upon course scheduling and will change every semester. All lunches and dinners are open to the public.
Hours of Operation for Spring 2024
Lunch (sit-down dining in a casual setting)
- Fridays: 11:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
Reservations are not required but are encouraged. Seating is limited in order for us to provide a safe environment for our guests. Guests are taken on a first-come, first-served basis. Please visit the Lunch Reservation page to request a reservation.
Note: You will not receive a reservation confirmation; however, if we are at full capacity and cannot accept your reservation, we will notify you. Otherwise, consider your reservation accepted.
Dinner (fine dining in a casual setting)
- Thursdays: 6:00 p.m.–7:30 p.m.

Parking for the Lunch Buffet
Pay-by-space parking is available during the Allenwood lunch buffets. These spaces are located on and in the Keith and HUB parking lots located off of near the HUB.
Parking for the Dinner Service
Pay-by-space parking is available during the Allenwood Dinner service. These spaces are located on Pratt Drive and in the Keith and HUB parking lots located off of Garman Avenue and South 8th Street near the HUB. These lots are free to park after 5:00 p.m. except for reserved and handicapped.
Special Requests
At the Allenwood, we strive to meet all our patrons' dietary needs. However, the Allenwood is a student lab class and not a full-service restaurant. Therefore, we are unable to fully address every dietary restriction.
Food Allergies
If you or members of your party have any known food allergies, please list the number of each type of meal needed when making a reservation.
Food Intolerance: Lactose-free, Gluten-free, or Vegetarian
Our current policy for lactose-free and gluten-free is for each individual patron to choose which food items they can tolerate at their own discretion prior to visiting the Allenwood.

Please let your server know if there is some way we can easily modify your meal.
Payment Policy
We accept cash, checks (payable to IUP), or credit/debit cards. Please, no tipping.
