A permanent full-time employee shall be granted one day of paid holiday leave on or in lieu of each of the holidays listed below, provided the employee was in an active pay status for the last half of the employee’s schedule workday immediately prior and the first half of the employee's scheduled workday immediately subsequent to the actual holiday.
The following days shall be recognized as paid holidays:
New Years Day- January 1
Martin Luther King Jr’s Birthday- 3rd Monday in January
Presidents Day- 3rd Monday in February
Memorial Day- Last Monday in May
Juneteenth- June 19
Independence Day- July 4
Labor Day- 1st Monday in September
Columbus Day- 2nd Monday in October
Veterans Day- November 11
Thanksgiving Day- 4th Thursday in November
Christmas- December 25
Beginning with the 2024 Leave Calendar Year, any unused holiday leave at the end of this Leave Calendar Year shall be carried ten pay periods into the next leave calendar year. Holiday leave not used by the end of this period shall be paid out at their regular rate of pay.
