Popular Culture Methodologies is a new graduate student organization in IUP's Language, Literature, and Writing Department.
Aligned with the Language, Literature, and Writing Department's objectives to foster a community of scholars, PCM's goals center on creating space, time, and a community for up-and-coming Pop Culture scholars to develop projects in preparation to share them with larger academic communities, whether in pursuit of conferencing or publishing. Its growing community represents a variety of fields, including studies in: Adaptation, Critical Video Game, Comics, Digital Humanities, Film and Media, Ecocriticism and Sustainability, Gender, Sexuality and Queer Theory, Critical Race, Fandom, Science Fiction, and (among others) Fairy Tales and Fantasy.
