The Department of Foreign Languages held the annual IUP Spring Methodology Conference on Foreign Language Teaching on Friday, April 22, 2022. The organizing committee included: Christina Huhn (co-chair), Marjorie Zambrano-Paff (co-chair), Charles McCreary (chair, Department of Foreign Languages), Heide Witthoeft (German), and Laurel Liu (Chinese).
IUP graduates, conference committee, and keynote speaker
The 2022 keynote speaker was Francis Troyan of the Ohio State University. Troyan is originally from Johnstown and participated in the APPLES language festival while in high school. His keynote address was titled “Genre Matters in World Language Education: Contextualized Assessment and Learning” and was followed by a workshop on the same topic.
