We’re excited to let you know that EZBorrow, the service that underpins Stapleton Library’s Interlibrary Loan program for borrowing books and other physical items from libraries throughout our region, is migrating to a new technology platform, ReShare, starting August 12th.
The new platform will improve interlibrary loan services to our patrons by using the latest library technology. The open source platform lets us customize our services and adapt more quickly to our users' needs. The platform is also owned and governed by a community of libraries and developers who are collaborating to give library users world-class access to library collections that will only improve going forward!
What will be different?
You'll see a new and improved search interface, with easier browsing, searching, and requesting functions
The new platform helps us fill your requests faster and more accurately, with improved tools and connection to other libraries
What will be the same?
Although the underlying technology is changing, the key benefits of our interlibrary loan services remain the same. You can still check out books from any one of our 60+ university and research library partners around our region with the same speed, efficiency and convenience that we've always provided!
What do you need to do?
- Keep requesting materials as usual! Although the platform is changing, the service is the same.
- Please note: If you wish to preserve your request history, contact us before August 31 for help downloading this information. After August 31st, it will no longer be available.
Although we aim to make this transition as smooth as possible, we expect there may be the occasional issue or question. Please don’t hesitate to contact the Interlibrary Loan office at 724-357-3037 or ill-iup@iup.edu.
