IUP Student Film Association Partners with Local Electronic Musicians to Present Live Music & Film Event

On Tuesday, November 28 at 7pm in the Indiana Theater in downtown Indiana PA, local electronic musicians Rapid Uncontrolled Disassembly partners with the IUP Student Film Association in presenting a series of music videos. Over the course of six songs and six videos we’ll follow a number of characters that stretch into liminal dimensions and experience absurd activity. These realms appear familiar, yet otherworldly. The songs will be performed live and the music videos will be projected on the big screen behind them. 

“Pirates” Production Takes a Village

The Pirates of Penzance, the classic comic operetta by Gilbert & Sullivan, will be performed Wednesday and Thursday, November 15 and 16, at 7:30 p.m. in Fisher Auditorium. This production is the culmination of months of work by roughly 100 students across several disciplines.

IUP Performing Arts Groups Present Gilbert & Sullivan’s Swashbuckling “The Pirates of Penzance”

IUP’s Music Theater, Theatre-by-the-Grove, Symphony Orchestra, and Chorale will present a production of the popular classic comic operetta, “The Pirates of Penzance,” with libretto by W. S. Gilbert and music by Arthur Sullivan, on November 15 and 16 at 7:30 p.m. in Fisher Auditorium. 

University Museum Exhibit to Showcase WPA Federal Arts Project

"Pieces from the Collection," an exhibit by the University Museum at IUP, features artists that shared an important background of working and creating art for the Federal Arts Project, a division of the Depression-era Works Progress Administration, often referred to as the WPA.

Theater-by-the-Grove and Music Theatre Premiere New Musical by IUP Alumnus and Writing Partner

Spring means romance is in the air. IUP’s Theater-by-the-Grove in co-production with Music Theater will present a new musical written by IUP alumnus Joe York (2012) and his writing partner Hali Alspach opening March 29 at 7:30 in Waller Hall’s main theater.

Tibetan Monks Return to Campus of ϳԹ

Tibetan Buddhist monks from Drepung Loseling Monastery will be in residence on the campus of ϳԹ from March 21 until March 25. During this time, they will present a variety of events that will be open to both the campus and the community. Most of the events are free of charge.

IUP Symphony Orchestra Partners with Local Rock Band, Somebody to Love, for Unique Concert

Classical music meets rock music when ϳԹ’s Symphony Orchestra collaborates with the local rock band, Somebody to Love, for a concert entitled, “Classic Meets Rock.” Music from the Beatles, Elton John, Toto, Aretha Franklin, and more will be featured in the concert, which will take place on Wednesday, February 7, at 7:30 p.m. in Fisher Auditorium on the campus of IUP.
