Edward W. Gondolf is a professor emeritus of Sociology and ex-director of Research at the Mid-Atlantic Addiction Research and Training Institute (MARTI), where he authored nine books on wife abuse, conducted grant-funded research on the response of the courts, mental health practitioners, alcohol treatment clinicians, and batterer programs to domestic violence. He was the founding president of the Domestic Abuse Counseling Center (DACC) in Pittsburgh, fellow at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic, and consultant to the National Resource Center on Domestic Violence.
