All members of the IUP community are invited to hear an update on IUP’s 2020–25 Strategic Plan implementation at a program on Thursday, September 2, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (during the Common Hour) and to be part of an interactive afternoon session designed to get input from students, faculty, and staff about next steps for IUP.

“Many Voices, One Future: The Road Ahead for IUP” will be held in Gorell Recital Hall, located on the second floor of Sutton Hall. The program also will be .

This event will feature an introduction by IUP President Michael Driscoll; an update on the work of the NextGen Coordination Councils from Interim Provost Lara Luetkehans; an update on the Strategic Plan by University Planning Council co-chairs Scott Moore and Paula Stossel; information on the Strategic Enrollment Plan by Vice President for Enrollment Management Patricia McCarthy; and information on planning for the next fundraising campaign from Vice President for University Advancement Khatmeh Osseiran-Hanna.

“These plans—IUP NextGen, the Strategic Enrollment Plan, planning for the next fundraising campaign—are all part of our road map that will help us to meet the goals of the Strategic Plan,” Karen Rose Cercone, co-chair of the IUP NextGen Steering Committee and Provost’s Associate and Geoscience faculty member, said. Hilliary Creely, interim dean of the Graduate School and Research, co-chairs the Steering Committee with Cercone.

“While we hope everyone can attend in person or watch the 11:30 a.m. panel to learn more about the current status of this work, we really want feedback, and we’ve set up two sites for students, faculty, and staff to physically provide their input in the afternoon following the panel discussion,” she said.

These “Gallery Walks” will be set up in the Blue Room of Sutton Hall (first floor); and under a tent in the Oak Grove from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.

“We will have posters with a number of suggestions and questions from the members of IUP’s five NextGen Coordination Councils about next steps for NextGen. Participants can mark the suggestions they like, and also provide their own ideas,” Cercone said. “We’re offering this throughout the afternoon so that it fits as many schedules as possible.”

There will also be a number of focus groups at other locations on campus; more information about these focus groups will be publicized as details are finalized.
