Mission Statement
The Office of the Registrar serves a dynamic and diverse population of students, faculty, staff, and external community members by working collaboratively to cultivate scholarship in registration, scheduling, degree path, and record guardianship for students and alumni in support of their educational goals and professional growth.
We are strongly committed to IUP's mission to provide high-quality education by incorporating technology advancements to provide quality and enhanced efficiency in student services while complying with federal and state regulations.
The Office of the Registrar offers the following core functions:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for FERPA Compliance and Act 48 Certification
- Report enrollment and degree data to the National Student Clearinghouse
- Certify academic eligibility of student athletes
- Address residency concerns
- Implement and maintain Degree Works
- Assist in student registration process
- Manage course catalog, prerequisites, and programs
- Monitor and adjust prerequisites and programs
- Monitor semester schedule building process
- Schedule rooms for classes and for non-academic purposes
- Receive enrollment and degree verification requests
- Process transcripts and diplomas in coordination with National Student Clearinghouse
- Process applications for graduation and post degrees
- Process end of semester grades, grade changes, D/F repeats, pass/fail, and audit requests
- Process Probation and Dismissal status
- Process major/minor changes, address, and name changes
- Process reenrollment applications
- Produce and distribute Dean's List and Provost Scholar certificates
- Edit and produce the Undergraduate Catalog
- Create and publish academic calendar, class schedule, and final exam schedule
- Assist with hosting the Graduation Fair
- Coordinate and assist with Commencement activities
- Provide University Banner access
- Assist with Student Orientation
