Some aspects of grant management are facilitated by access to IUP networks or Internet sites. For maximum efficiency with related technology, project directors can do the following:
Office PC
Any faculty member may request direct assistance on issues addressing the functionality of an office PC. These include mapping of drives and installation of software. For technology support, faculty members can contact the IT Support Center by logging an ihelp ticket ().
Network Drives
Once mapped, network drives offer access to various information:
- Xan administrative drive for common information
- Oan office drive for personnel within a specific department
- Iinstructor information
- Nan academic drive for common information
- Hhome or personal drive
SAP Finance and Purchasing
After an SAP cost center is established, purchases can be made online and grant expenditures can be monitored. Using SAP, follows these steps:
- Grant and Special Fund Accounting office sets up signature authority.
- Project director or designated staff attends SAP Finance training. This training is the background for understanding SAP and for learning the Purchasing system. Call 724-357-5567 to schedule.
- Project director or designated staff attends SAP Purchasing training. This training teaches online ordering of equipment, supplies, or services. Call 724-357-5567 to schedule.
Computer Access and Capability
All full-time and tenured or tenure-track faculty members should have a PC that meets or exceeds the minimum standards established by the Academic Computing Policy Advisory Committee. If a computer must be purchased for the project, or an upgrade or installation of a program is needed, contact the IT Support Center by logging an ihelp ticket ().
