Think outside the box: the RI can also help you build budgets and proposals for contracts with local and regional businesses for services you provide. You can also discover what is being funded in your discipline by asking your colleagues and attending national/regional meetings. Many professional organizations award small grants that can jump-start your research and strengthen your CV. Collaborative proposals across disciplines and/or universities are very competitive and the RI can help coordinate the proposal.
The RI uses various funding databases to identify external funding opportunities from federal and state government agencies, foundations, nonprofit organizations, and corporations.
