Vaccaro Co-authors Book with PhD Alumna on Use of Humor in Child Welfare Casework

Christian Vaccaro, professor in the Department of Sociology, co-authored "Exploring Humor in Child Welfare Casework: Laugh to Get Through It or Cry Forever" with Lisa Landram, alumna of the Administration and Leadership Studies in Nonprofit and Public Sectors program (PhD 鈥�20). Landram is an incoming assistant professor of social work at Mary Baldwin University.

Diane Shinberg, associate professor of Sociology, presented 鈥淎t the Intersection of Disabilities and Opioid Use Disorders: Patterns of Protection and Susceptibility鈥� at the American Sociological Association鈥檚 annual meeting. The paper addresses the social patterning of misuse and use disorders across different disability groups.

Vaccaro and Colleagues Win National Award for Narrative Research in Social Psychology

Christian Vaccaro and colleagues won the 2019聽David R. Maines Narrative Research Award for their work, 鈥淣arrative Manhood Acts: Batterer Intervention Program Graduates鈥� Tragic Relationships.鈥� The award was presented by the Carl Couch Center for Social and Internet Research.
