IUP faculty members and teaching assistants attended “Student Thriving,” presented by Mimi Benjamin, Student Affairs in Higher Education, on Thursday, October 5, from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. in the HUB Allegheny Room.

While “surviving” the college experience is important, student “thriving” is a better goal. What is it that contributes to students having a college experience that goes beyond survival?

During this session, research-based conclusions about what leads to thriving for various student populations were shared, and ideas for encouraging student thriving were generated in the hopes that faculty can assist students to thrive at IUP.
