Jozefowiczes Recognized with IUP Award of Excellence in Volunteer Leadership

Department of Economics faculty members James Jozefowicz and Stephanie Jozefowicz are the recipients of the 2020 IUP Award of Excellence in Volunteer Leadership for Advancement Support, which recognizes volunteers who continually inspire others to give their time and treasures to advance IUP.

Economist Jeffords Publishes Article in “Ecological Economics”

Available to download for free until June 18, Christopher Jeffords’ paper, “On the relationship between constitutional environmental human rights and sustainable development outcomes,” was published in Ecological Economics. Jeffords uses two different econometric frameworks to provide quantitative evidence of a positive relationship between national constitutional environmental rights provisions and sustainable development outcomes as measured by the newly developed Sustainable Development Index.

Economics Majors Recognized on Fall 2020 Dean's List

The Department of Economics is proud to announce that 27 economics majors have been named to the fall 2020 Dean’s List at IUP. These students earned a grade-point-average of 3.25 or higher while completing a minimum of 12 credits during the semester.

Sissoko Attends Virtual Program on Labor Economics and Applied Econometrics

Yaya Sissoko attended the American Economic Association’s virtual continuing education program on Labor Economics and Applied Econometrics, January 6–8, 2021. The course covered recent developments in empirical labor economics along with econometric methods commonly used in contemporary research on labor markets.
