Graduates of the IUP honors track in Economics have had their work published in the recently released book, Applied Econometric Analysis: Emerging Research and Opportunities, co-edited by Yaya Sissoko (IUP) and Brian Sloboda (University of Phoenix).
Thanks to the past and ongoing generosity of alumni, faculty, staff, administrators, and friends, the Department of Economics is pleased to have awarded six scholarships for the 2020鈥�21 academic year.
Seven economics majors have been named to the recently released fall 2020 list of IUP Provost Scholars in recognition of their completion of at least 45 credits at IUP while earning a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.5 or higher. This honor is bestowed only once during a student鈥檚 course of study at IUP. 聽聽

In June 2020, Yaya Sissoko published 鈥淎 Reformulated Value Chain Framework Useful for Different Kinds of Markets鈥� (co-authored with Jeffrey Forrest, Yong Liu, John Golden, and Qiaoxing Li) in the Journal of Business Economic Studies.
In July 2020, Yaya Sissoko published 鈥淭he Determinants of Economic Growth in ECOWAS Countries: An Empirical Investigation鈥� (co-authored with Brian Sloboda) in the African Journal of Economic Review.

Congratulations to Willard W. Radell who was awarded professor emeritus聽status in May 2020. Professor Radell retired on August 16, 2019, after 38 years of dedicated service to the Department of Economics at IUP.
