According to the :

  • Every 68 seconds, someone in the United States is sexually assaulted.
  • 23.1 percent of TGQN (transgender, genderqueer, nonconforming) college students have been sexually assaulted.
  • One in six women and one in 33 men have been victims of an attempted or completed rape in their lifetime.
  • Women ages 18–24 who are college students are three times more likely than women in general to experience sexual violence.
  • Approximately 80 percent of rapes are committed by someone known to the victim.

What is Sexual Assault?

Sexual assault is any type of sexual contact or behavior that occurs without the explicit consent of the recipient. Falling under the definition of sexual assault are sexual activities such as forced sexual intercourse, forcible sodomy, child molestation, incest, fondling, and attempted rape. ()

Student Conduct Policy

As a community, the university has developed a code of standards and expectations that are consistent with its purpose as an educational institution. The Student Conduct Policies and Procedures articulate these standards. Students are held accountable for violations of these policies through the university conduct system.
