Active Coaches (non-Faculty)
Eligibility Criteria:
A coach (non-FACULTY) must be:
- permanent/full-time (100 percent) and in an active pay status, or
- permanent/part-time (employed at least 50 percent) and in an active pay status.
Tuition waiver applications can be submitted for the first semester/session following the employee's hire date.
Tuition Waiver Benefit:
Active Full-Time Coach (non-Faculty)
- 100 percent waiver of tuition for up to six undergraduate or graduate credits per fall or spring semester (up to four credits per summer or winter session)
- Waiver of Activity, Health, Technology, and Transportation fees
- IUP only - no tuition waiver benefit at other ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø State System schools
Active Part-Time Coach (non-Faculty)
- 100 percent waiver of tuition for up to six undergraduate credits per fall or spring semester (up to four credits per summer or winter session)
- Waiver of Activity, Health, Technology, and Transportation fees
- IUP only - no tuition waiver benefit at other State System schools
- No tuition waiver benefit for graduate credits
Spouse of Full-Time Active Coach (non-Faculty)
- 100 percent waiver of tuition until spouse receives first undergraduate degree.
- Waiver of Activity, Technology, and Transportation fees
- IUP only - no tuition waiver benefit at other State System schools
- No tuition waiver benefit for graduate credits.
Spouse of Part-Time Active Coach (non-Faculty): No tuition waiver benefit
Child of Full-Time Active Coach (non-Faculty)
- IUP: 100 percent waiver of tuition up to two full years* past the date of completion of the child's first undergraduate degree. *Indefinite if child is dependent for IRS purposes.
- Other State System schools: 50 percent waiver of tuition up to the child's first undergraduate degree or age 25, whichever occurs first
- Waiver of Technology Fee
- No tuition waiver benefit for graduate credits
Child of Part-Time Active Coach (non-Faculty)
- IUP: Pro-rated waiver of tuition up to two full years* past the date of completion of the child's first undergraduate degree and waiver of Technology Fee. *Indefinite if child is dependent for IRS purposes.
- Proration based on coach'sFTE at the beginning of the semester in which student is attending.
- Ex: If 75 percent FTE in fall 2021, then waiver of 75 percent for fall 2021 for the student
- Other State System schools: no tuition waiver benefit
- No tuition waiver benefit for graduate credits
Retired Coach (non-Faculty)
Eligibility Criteria:
A retired full-time coach (non-Faculty) must have at least 10 years of service exclusively with the State System of Higher Education at the time of tuition waiver application.
Tuition Waiver Benefit:
Retired Coach (non-Faculty): no tuition waiver benefit
Spouse of Retired Coach (non-Faculty): no tuition waiver benefit
Child of Retired Coach (non-Faculty)
- IUP: 100 percent waiver of tuition up to the child's first undergraduate degree or age 25, whichever occurs first
- Other State System schools: 50 percent waiver of tuition up to the child's first undergraduate degree or age 25, whichever occurs first
- Waiver of Technology Fee
- No tuition waiver benefit for graduate credits
Permanently Disabled or Deceased Coach (non-Faculty)
Eligibility Criteria:
A permanently disabled coach (non-faculty) must have at least five years of service with the State System of Higher Education and became permanently disabled while an active employee.
A deceased coach (non-faculty) must have had at least five years of service with the State System of Higher Education and deceased while an active employee.
Tuition Waiver Benefit:
Permanently Disabled or Deceased Coach (non-Faculty): no tuition waiver benefit
Spouse of Disabled or Deceased Coach (non-Faculty)
- 100 percent waiver of tuition until spouse receives first undergraduate degree.
- Waiver of Activity, Technology, and Transportation fees
- IUP only - no tuition waiver benefit at other State System schools
- No tuition waiver benefit for graduate credits
Child of Permanently Disabled or Deceased Coach (non-Faculty)
- IUP: 100 percent waiver of tuition up to two full years* past the date of completion of the child's first undergraduate degree. *Indefinite if child is dependent for IRS purposes.
