An I-Card is always required when checking out library materials. Visit Polices and Processes for information about obtaining an I-Card or Community Library Card for use at the IUP Libraries.
Checking Out Library Materials
Once you've found the item you'd like to check out, bring it to the Circulation Desk on the first floor of the Stapleton Library.
- Someone is always available to assist you at the Circulation Desk.
- A worker will ask for your I-Card, then will check out the book(s) or item to your account.
- The worker will let you know when your book is due back, and will place a bookmarker inside the book as a reminder of your due date
Renewing Library Materials
Library materials renew automatically. If you are an undergraduate or graduate student, you will receive two renewals. If you are a faculty member, staff member, or administrator, you will receive three renewals. Once your maximum number of renewals is reached, you must return the borrowed items.
You can see the items you have checked out, their current due date, and their renewal status by Viewing Your Library Account.
Lost I-Card
If your I-Card is lost or stolen, please contact the I-Card Office, and also let us know as soon as possible so we can mark it lost in our system. This will disable the card for any type of use for library services.
