Yong Colen served as the Mathematics Curriculum Quality Control Lead for Public Consulting Group and Educational Testing Service, overseeing the quality of the Praxis preparation course to improve prospective teachers’ knowledge of mathematics.
Dr. Sumanth Swaminathan will be giving two lectures as part of the SIAM Visiting Lecture Series on Friday, April 22.
The S-COAM Program will give two 3D printing workshops on October 13 and 27 in Stright Hall, room 220, from 6:30-8:00PM.

John Chrispell, a mathematician in the Department of Mathematical and Computer Sciences, will be giving the next talk in the Science Inspires Series, titled “Fluids, Ratchets, and Transportation: Moving Strange Fluids in a Unique Way.” His talk will be held on Thursday, March 18, at 4:30 p.m. via Zoom.
Yongtao Cao, a statistician in the Department of Mathematical and Computer Sciences, has written a paper on monitoring the SARS-CoV-2 virus in wastewater, and has written an app to predict the number of COVID-19 cases for a provided SARS-CoV-2 concentration level in the wastewater.
Alumni who participated in the Scholarships-Creating Opportunities for Applying Mathematics (S-COAM) program at IUP will be meeting virtually with current IUP students to discuss their career paths. The meeting will be held via Zoom on Wednesday, March 10, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m.
