The late Robert Flora, a 1978 graduate of IUP’s psychology clinical mental health counseling master’s program, left instructions revealed after his death to donate $200,000 from his estate to IUP for student scholarships.
We are looking for 13- to 18-year-olds to participate in a research study examining how daily use of the app "Amaru: The Self-Care Virtual Pet" influences teens' mental health. Findings from this study may improve the treatment of anxious and depressive disorders in adolescents.
The ϳԹ State System of Higher Education is in the process of implementing a common Student Information System across the State System schools. IUP is scheduled to begin implementing OneSIS in January 2024.
Pearl Berman, professor of psychology at ϳԹ, will be one of the presenters for two webinars on May 11 and May 17, free and open to all ϳԹ residents, about addressing violence in ϳԹ communities. PhD candidate Kathleen Ammerman was the primary author on the article “A Survey of Driver Education Practices in ϳԹ,” which appeared in the 2020 fall/winter issue of ϳԹ Education Leadership.

The book offers a theoretical framework for thinking systematically and integratively about what people do as they go about their complex lives in all corners of the world.
Pearl Berman, Department of Psychology, demonstrates how to talk to youth about tough topics at a developmentally appropriate level. This Zoom workshop on Wednesday, August 19, will help parents and other concerned adults talk to children and teens about the historical trauma faced by African-Americans and how this has influenced current civic unrest over police brutality and racism.
