Participants who successfully complete this program are eligible to take National Registry of EMTs certification exams for ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø and national certification as an EMT.

Online/hybrid EMT courses are designed for students who are self-motivated, academically disciplined, and technologically proficient with standard computer applications. Important Information Regarding COVID Vaccine

Important Information: On November 4, 2021, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid announced an interim rule requiring COVID-19 vaccinations for all healthcare workers (including students and faculty) who provide care, treatment, or services for a covered provider. Some departments at IUP have already received word that many clinical sites are mandating the COVID vaccination for all students and staff who are at their sites. The sites are requiring that students have the first vaccine of Pfizer or Moderna (or the only vaccine of Johnson & Johnson) by December 5, 2021, and the second Pfizer or Moderna vaccine by January 2, 2022. In most cases, it does not appear any exemptions will be granted. The IUP EMT and Paramedic programs want to make sure all EMS students are aware of this requirement.

This program is primarily designed for future EMS personnel, but is appropriate for anyone who may respond to emergencies, including fire/rescue personnel, nurses, coaches or athletic trainers, safety professionals, etc. Students will complete required course lessons online and attend skill labs on scheduled days.
